I am reviewing the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance, National Office charity. The first thing that you see is that they have a 95.5% overall rating. As you begin to scroll down you see that they only spend 75% of their money on their actual services. They also do not spend any money on fundraisers, which is odd. They have raised over 3 million dollars though. I feel that i would donate money to this foundation, but not a lot. Since I see that they do only use 75% of their money on actual services and use none to aid their funds. If i were to donate a set amount it would be maybe $50+, no more than that. If they are only going to use $37.50 of my $50 to help those in need with this disorder, then I do not feel the need to give them more than that.

I am reviewing the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance Greater Houston based on the information found on Charity Navigator. This organization's purpose is to establish support groups for those who suffer from depression/bipolar disorder or friends and family of individuals with depression or bipolar disorder. I highly respect this mission because I feel that people with mental health issues generally need someone to talk to, so I'd heavily consider donating to them just because of the mission. Additionally, 81% of their money goes to creating these support groups, and they also have an exceptionally low fundraising efficiency (they spend $0.09 to make $1. Lastly, they're rated 4 stars on Charity Navigator, the highest possible rating. Because this rating is based off of how they use their money and how transparent they are, I think this organization would be worth donating to.
